My Goals/Plans for 2025
2024 was a wild year. I will honestly be happy to leave it behind as we head into 2025.
As much as this site aims to focus on the positives in life, I do also have to be honest and say that my early years of young adulthood have contained a lot of hardship. In a way, that’s how you’d want it to be. There is so much wisdom and growth to be gained from challenging times, and when you’re young and up and coming is the best time to learn those lessons. However, just as all good things must come to an end, the same can be said for the bad. After 10 years of hardship of varying degrees, I am simply burned out and ready to move on.
In this article I want to take a look at some of my goals/plans for this new year.
#1 Get Better at Golf
For years now I have had the goal of getting good enough at swinging a golf club to actually play, but it’s not quite something I’ve fully put together yet. I’ve spent many afternoons out hitting balls, and although I’ve gotten better, I’m not quite at a level good enough to play a full round, and that’s something I want to change.
I have no interest in playing golf for the gambling and money aspect of it. I really don’t even have interest in going out there to play competitively in any way. For me I really just enjoy being out in nature, and I enjoy the social aspect of it. When my grandfather comes in town to visit, or a friend comes through the area, I want to have the skills good enough to at least hold my own on the course without hitting the ball into nearby homes, cars, and windows on every swing.
I’ve already went out to make a few small purchases such as a new golf bag, new putter, and a little bit of new attire I can wear while I play, and from there it’s just about showing up to the range to practice. When the summer time rolls around and the prices start to drop, it’ll make for a good opportunity to go out there and actually play the course. Even if I’m just running it solo, it will be nice to have that option for something I can do to de-stress, enjoy nature, and enjoy some time to myself.
#2 Tone it Down With Social Media
Social Media can make for an awesome platform when it comes to building your brand and putting yourself out there to the world. But, not all platforms are equal in that regard. The reality is that with the level of competition that is out there, the chances of actually making any money are slim. Especially when it comes to platforms like Instagram, Twitter (X), and TikTok.
In 2025, my goal is to keep it minimal with those platforms. Any posting I do will be purely for fun. I’ve spent so many years trying to build a brand, gain followers, and get views on those platforms, but for a guy like me it’s just not the right groove. I’m much more happy to just lay low, focus on my personal life, and focus on areas that are actually bound to produce real results.
If I had to narrow it down, my goal is to focus on continuing to write for my site, and also continue to create videos for YouTube. I am comfortable with letting go of the rest. Especially Instagram.
#3 Get Up Earlier and Spend Less Time Dozing Off
When you’re tired and burned out, it can become very easy to spend large amounts of time laying down and getting rest. Which is understandable. The thing is, all that laying around just doesn’t typically add up to any significant increases in energy or vibrancy. In reality it seems like you’re just making yourself groggier and more tired.
For this new year one of my main goals is just to focus on having a healthier relationship with sleep in that regard. Go to bed early, get up early, and stay awake throughout the day. I love a good nap, it’s just that by napping late in the afternoon it just makes it harder to fall asleep that night, which just throws your circadian rhythm off even more.
I’m keeping a sleep log and keeping track of how my sleep performance goes through each day. The more I can make a habit out of jumping straight out of bed and getting the day started, the more likely I am to see better results and better performance in the other areas of my life as well.
Doing For The Sake of Doing
2024 was a wild year, but it was a good year. I made gains financially and made upgrades within my personal life. I made good moves professionally and entrepreneurially. And I did good things just to continue my path of young adulthood in the right direction. However, if you notice my goals for this year, you will notice that none of them will have to do with money, and none of them are highly results-oriented.
For 2025, I am much happier to focus on doing for the sake of doing rather than doing just to get. I find that I perform better and feel happier when I can take the expectation and pressure off of myself and just focus on the processes and focus on doing things for me. Not living in a rush to try to appease, impress, or please other people.
With that said, I am looking forward to having an amazing year, and I hope you are as well. Thank you for taking the time to read this article. I wish you good health, success, and prosperity in this new year. If you have goals/plans of your own for the new year, feel free to share them in the comments below. Otherwise I thank you again and look forward to seeing you on the next article.
