The Best Streamers On Twitch

Twitch is an interesting platform. On one hand you can have kids signing NBA sized deals and contracts, and on the other you can have a guy streaming to 26 viewers from his basement, and yet somehow everyone is able to coexist on a similar playing field.

I first started watching Twitch in 2017, but didn’t start watching regularly until after Fortnite dropped in 2018. At that time I was mainly watching just to get tips on how to play the game. Over time I began to appreciate the more interactive, community aspect of Twitch, and that continues to be the case to this day.

Here are my top 5 favorite streamers.

#5 HappyHappyGal

I didn’t discover HappyGal until just last year while browsing on the homepage. It had been a while since I had watched Twitch or browsed around like that, and I checked her out seeing that she must have gained popularity more recently since the last time I had been on.

From the moment I started viewing, I was blown away by the level of energy she was putting forth. She was joking around and messing with the random players in lobby, responding to her chat, and winning games, but what was most impressive was her dance moves in between rounds.

HappyGal actually kind of looks like a girl I used to date in high school. Plus she thanked me for following and responded to my messages in chat which is always nice. And from what I see she is interactive with her community and big on playing with viewers. Almost every stream feels like it’s own event, and she does a good job of coming up with new ideas for how to keep each stream a special occasion.

#4 Myth

I first started watching Myth back in 2018 after he was recommended by a friend as a good Fortnite player to model my game after. At that time Myth was one of the top Fortnite streamers and was doing things that other players just hadn’t quite mastered.

What makes Myth so likeable is that he is a fairly regular guy. He jokes around with his chat as if they were his friends on Discord, and doesn’t seem to have much of an ego.

Myth also represents someone who has been able to amass a large revenue from streaming without “blowing it like a dumbass” in his own words. As someone that is a little bit older than he is, I can’t help but find his position at such a young age admirable.

#3 Valkyrae

I first started watching Valkyrae back in 2019 after seeing her featured on another broadcaster’s stream. Over time Valkyrae has grown into one of the top female streamers, alongside Pokimane.

Valkyrae is entertaining to watch because she is good at the games without being overly sweaty, and she is a good variety streamer, playing something different almost every time she gets on.

She is also good about reading and responding to her chat. As a viewer it is sometimes cool to see the broadcaster openly cracking up at things you have written in the chat room.

#2 Ninja

When it comes to making big bucks through gaming and establishing a name for yourself, Ninja is the top dog in that department.

I first started watching Ninja back in 2018, and at the time he was broadcasting the largest streams on the platform, and absolutely crushing it in Fortnite. I can still remember watching his New Year’s broadcast at the end of that year, which was from NYC as the parade was going on in the background. He even got a Victory Royale in his final match of the year which was really cool to see.

Ninja isn’t the biggest on reading and responding to his chat, but that is understandable given the size of his stream. In his own words “people enjoy watching people who are the best at what they do” and that is truly the case for his stream.

#1 Chica

Chica is easily my favorite streamer, and I have spent the most time watching her stream out of all the names on this list.

I still remember the first time I came across Chica’s stream, and that’s because she shouted me out on the first comment I ever typed. After watching her get back-to-back wins I typed a second comment saying that I had dropped a follow, to which she responded “I like you Just”.

Chica’s stream is cool because it has the allure of a big stream while still having the intimacy of a small community. Chica is very good about thanking viewers, responding to messages, and even playing with subscribers which adds to that feel. I personally have jumped in on those sub games a few times, and have even gotten an add from her on Fortnite which feels nice.

Chica is entertaining to watch because she is very good at the games she plays, but she is also very jovial with the people she matches with online. She can talk to young children on an even-level, or take interest in other young adults by asking about their background or life situation. She displays a youthfulness that is rare to see among adults in today’s world.

Honorable Mention: N3on

I didn’t discover N3on until just last year. From what I have come across online, N3on seems to have had a lot of controversy in years prior. He has been accused of making racist comments as well as putting out ridiculous content specifically to get views and attention. Personally, I haven’t seen that side of him.

I came across N3on after watching him do an IRL stream in the gym with Bradley Martyn. Over the past few months I have tuned back in to watch him do a little bit of everything, from play pickup basketball, to train jiu-jitsu, to even go out on on-stream dates.

For a 21 year old kid, N3on seems to have a certain level of maturity that you wouldn’t find among most that age. Some of that probably comes from dealing with the controversies, but also just being in the limelight for so long at such a young age. He seems to take a genuine interest in the people he features on his streams, and is not someone that shies away from putting himself in uncomfortable or potentially embarrassing situations.
