The Power Of Positivity
After coming up with the title for this post, I was actually surprised to learn that there is a popular book out of the same name. I guess that shows that positivity must really be powerful!
When you approach things with a negative mindset, it tends to suck all of the joy out of the situation. On the other hand, when you focus on the positives, it tends to be energizing and uplifting no matter the circumstances.
Say Yes To This Moment
As human beings, although our actions play a big part in the way things manifest on the surface, we cannot directly control every aspect of our lives. However, what we can do is say “yes” to this moment as if we had chosen it. In other words, if you could have it any way, you would have selected exactly what you currently have.
In challenging situations it can be hard to adopt that mindset. However, sometimes it is the key ingredient to transforming a situation from a negative into a plus.
Sometimes it helps to look at what this time of your life has to offer you. What valuable experiences are to be had from this position, and how can you use where you’re at to better yourself moving forward.
Let Go Of The Past
Sometimes when you are approaching things from a place of negativity it is because you have allowed situations from the past to condition your perception of the present. It’s as if you are looking at the world with a dark pair of sunglasses on. All it takes is a quick adjustment to see that things are actually a lot brighter.
I heard a cool quote a few days ago that said “Throw out yesterday’s newspaper. Today is the start of the rest of your life”.
When you let go of the past you give yourself the ability to fully enjoy the present. When you’re not worrying about things that happened years ago you can more fully appreciate what’s happening Now.
Take Accountability For Yourself
Instead of always blaming external events or circumstances as the culprit for the negative emotions you feel, take a look at your own role in manifesting those emotions. Is it really the situation to blame, or is it you?
When you blame outer circumstances you have to change what is, which isn’t always possible. When you take accountability for yourself you can change your perspective, and profit from every situation. This can lead for things to change naturally and on their own in some cases.
