Do It For You

In today’s age of social media, it can be so easy to get caught up doing things for the sake of others. Whether it’s to impress other people, improve your status, prove yourself, or “get” something in particular. To a certain degree, some of that is understandable. However, when you get overly caught up doing things for the wrong reasons, it tends to suck a lot of the joy out of the process.

Stop Caring What Other People Think

Not everyone is willing to put themselves out there. Sometimes when you’re the only one in your social circle doing so, it can feel like it’s all eyes on you. If you’re not careful, it can become easy to absorb the opinions and viewpoints of others, and start letting that seep into what you do.

The reality is that you have to start somewhere. Not everything is going to be an instant success. Not every work of art is going to be a smash hit. And that is perfectly okay. But that’s also when it becomes increasingly important to do things for the right reasons. Basically, what that means is that you prioritize the actual doing of whatever it is that you’re doing, and you let the results come as they will.

As much as it feels good to have your work recognized and appreciated by others, the most important thing is that you recognize and appreciate what you do. If you don’t, you can’t ever expect to get very much joy and satisfaction out of things.

Enjoy The Process

If you can’t enjoy what you have and where you’re at, chances are you probably won’t be able to enjoy more. The people that go on to become the most successful are the ones that appreciate the grind and the struggle. The ones that don’t rarely have what it takes to stick things through. They get so caught up worrying about the results that they cut corners and take shortcuts, only to be down and out just a short time later.

Buying followers, stealing styles. Trying to make things appear more flashy then what they really are. These are just a few of the common ways people attempt to make it on social media these days.

But, then you will have a few people out there that really and truly go hard. Guys (and gals) that have been staying consistent and disciplined for years. Even though they aren’t fully there yet, they will get there, and that is something you can see from their work ethic. Others are there and do have a lane for themselves. They make great money doing what they do. They branch out and make other intelligent business decisions. And as they continue to keep going, things will only get better over time.

Appreciating It All

With where I’m at in life, if you told me I could trade places with any rich, successful individual if I wanted, my answer would be an easy no. I personally am thankful to be where I’m at. I enjoy the fact that I am highly motivated, and have so much to gain. I enjoy the fact that I still have a lot to earn and a lot to work for.

Some people are so desperate to “make it” that they ignore the beauty in where they’re at, and rush through life unnecessarily. They think that when they get the things they have their eye on, it will solve all their life’s problems and make them happy. Because they pursue things for the wrong reasons, even when they do get those things, it still doesn’t bring them peace.

When you appreciate every step of the way, you enjoy both the journey and the destination. You appreciate the process of doing what you do, and you also take immense joy and satisfaction in getting where you want to go. If this is your mindset, you will always feel successful. Even if things on paper don’t appear so in the eyes of the world, to you it will be, because you are doing things for yourself first and foremost.
