A Breakdown of My Album Releases

If you have been following along on YouTube or social media, you may have seen that I’ve dropped a few albums over the past couple of years. Prior to August of 2023, I had only ever dropped individual songs and verses.

First it was the Trip to Tally EP, then Continued Growth, First Round Pick, The Workshop EP, The Workshop EP (Deluxe Version) and my new project is titled Under the Surface and was released in December of 2025.

In this article I would like to take a closer look at some of these projects, give some back-story for the creative process, and explain why each one is significant to me in it’s own way.

Trip to Tally (2023)

Trip to Tally was the first album that I recorded and released, and as the title displays, it was recorded during a weekend trip to Tallahassee back in June of 2023. I had put together the trip to go up and visit for the weekend, and really wasn’t counting on getting a whole project recorded while I was up there.

The project was recorded in 3 different studio locations, features several tracks with guest vocals, and features 3 different producers. Initially I had figured that we would maybe get in a track or two while I was up there, but once we got to work the songs just kept flowing.

The first night we recorded 3 tracks all within the same session. The next night we did another two, and then on the last day I recorded a final track at a different studio location before jumping back on the road to drive home.

Recording that album was such a fun experience. It was so cool to be able to ride around Tallahassee listening to what we’d just recorded earlier in the same night. Listening to it on the ride back home was really cool as well, and I enjoyed taking it back home to play it for friends and family.

Continued Growth (2023)

Prior to heading up to Tallahassee, I had set up my own recording studio at my house. I had started writing and recording to get used to the new equipment for most of early 2023, but after getting back home from the trip to Tally it just made me that much more inspired to record.

The title Continued Growth is partially a play on my intials “C.G.”. If you listen to the material, you will also hear that most of the songs are related to personal growth as an artist and an individual. The songs themselves also show growth in quality, song structure, and lyricism, which add to the album theme as well.

Basically, I had released a good amount of singles throughout 2023, and none of them were actually featured on the album. After releasing all of those singles I had 7 songs left in my folder, and it worked out that those were the 7 songs that I wanted to feature on the album.

After building my home studio, recording all year, and stock-piling as many songs as I could, I released Continued Growth in December of 2023 just a few days prior to the start of the new year.

First Round Pick (2024)

First Round Pick was recorded in a fairly short time span, and most of the songs were recorded in late 2023 while at home recovering from a car accident. During that time I was hanging at the house watching a lot of NBA basketball, and that’s part of where the title First Round Pick comes from.

If you listen to the songs on First Round Pick, most of them have to do with basketball in one way or another, and the album cover even features a hoop on it.

For First Round Pick I decided to change up my beat selection. Most of the songs feature slower tempo west-coast type beats that sound much different than the ones I picked for Continued Growth.

The creative process for this project was a lot different than Continued Growth, even though the album plays at the same length of 7 songs. Basically, I wrote and recorded 7 songs, and then I made an album out of them. Instead of uploading the songs individually I compiled them together and released the full EP like that. The full project was released in March of 2024.

The Workshop EP (2024)

I first started recording for The Workshop EP in early 2024 just after getting home from another trip up to Tallahassee. In January of that year I had purchased the beat pack from Yung Nab with the intent to make a full project that I could release on all streaming platforms. The pack included 16 beats, and as soon as I got my hands on them I got to work.

The title The Workshop EP partially comes from the fact that at the time I was working at a local hardware store. The songs were also all recorded at my home studio which adds to the “workshop” feel of the album. However, along with that, the main theme is just working on my craft.

The Workshop EP was my first time putting a project together with beats all from the same producer. With that, the sound is a little different than my previous projects. These weren’t beats that I hand selected and picked. Basically, I paid for some beats, and then I took what I had and made an album out of it.

The original project features 5 songs, and then I released the deluxe version that featured another 5 for a total of 10 songs in May of 2025.

Under the Surface (2025)

Under the Surface is my new project that was released on December 5th, 2025. I started recording for Under the Surface in late December of 2024, and then continued to compile over 30 songs.

The goal for this project was to make a full length album. Everything that I’d released up to this point has been an EP, with the longest being 10 songs.

The title Under the Surface refers partially to getting beneath the superficial layers of everyday life. A lot of what you hear in rap these days is mostly materialistic and flashy. I wanted to make some songs that get away from that and have a deeper feel to them. The title also refers to being under the radar. Working on my craft and not being at the forefront, trying to “clout-chase” and look cool. Working on my music for its own sake and just trying to get better at what I do.

Now that the project is finished and released, I can say that this is my best project to date.

I also released a sequel Under The Surface 2 on December 14th, 2025.

Thank You for Reading and Listening

If you have taken the time to listen to any of these albums, I want to give a sincere thank you. As an artist sometimes that’s all you really want, is just for people to listen. And if you haven’t listened to these projects yet, now may be a great time to do so. Trip to Tally and The Workshop EP can be found on all streaming platforms, and the rest can be found on YouTube and Soundcloud.

As always, I also want to give a big thank you for reading this article. It means a lot. I hope you have enjoyed, and I look forward to seeing you on the next one.
