Highlights From 2025 And Goals For 2026

2025 was a good year. In many ways it truly was the year that I wanted it to be.

After having a year of transition and financial gain in 2024, my main focus for 2025 was to take the emphasis off of reaching monetary milestones and do things more for the sake of doing.

As much as I appreciated my last job situation for what it was, I had gotten to a point where I was ready to move on.

When they let me go in June of last year, I took it as a good thing. Mainly because I could afford to leave. Afterall, here it is still over 7 months later and I have continued to sustain myself and be fine. However, I know I can’t afford to live this way forever, and that’s something I plan to cover in my goals for the year.

Let’s go ahead and get into it.

Highlights From 2025

The biggest highlight from 2025 is that I gained somewhere around 20 pounds of muscle. I started working out more consistently starting around March and it’s something I kept up with for the rest of the year. My goal was to get to a point where I could do 30 pushups and 10 pullups per set, and I continued to add in other exercises along with that. By the end of the year my max for pushups actually ended up being 40.

I also recorded the most music I had ever recorded in a single year. My original plan was to stockpile all my songs and use only the best ones for a full LP. This would be a big accomplishment for me, because before last year I had only ever released EPs at 7-10 songs a piece. When I reached my goal of 14 songs (enough for an LP) around halfway through the year I started releasing them individually rather than continuing to stockpile them. By the end of the year it worked out that I had finished 36 full songs and 14 verses for a total of 50.

I also continued to write a ton of articles for this site. After taking some time off during the first quarter I was releasing 2-3 articles per week consistently throughout the rest of the year.

Other Takeaways From 2025

One of the challenges of 2025 was that I had a handful of prospects come up that didn’t end up panning out. It started in February when a job offer came to my attention that seemed like it would have been a great fit. I was looking to transition from what I was currently doing anyway, and when the guy invited me to come down and apply I got right to it. They ended up accepting my application graciously, but even after following up several times, they never ended up actually offering me the position.

There were also a handful of female prospects that I had met throughout the year. There were a couple of times where I got out and happened to come across what looked like a great match only for things to not pan out. Either because the other person was already taken, or because our personal values and life goals just didn’t align. It’s something I touched on in my “The Challenges of Adult Dating” article.

Between getting let go from my job and the other things listed above, it just set me that much more into my groove of doing things for the sake of doing. All in all, I am actually grateful those things didn’t end up working out, because it made for a more successful year.

Goals For 2026

As briefly mentioned up top, I realize that in 2026 it will be time to start earning money again. Along with living off of savings I have also been able to sustain myself through Handyman work, and there have also been some prospective freelance writing offers. I would gladly continue to live this way for longer, but I’m at a point where I’m going to have to start earning income again if I want to move forward this year.

Another goal is to be more social and have more fun. Throughout 2025 most of my days consisted of working out, recording music, writing for this site, reading library books, doing Handyman gigs, and doing work around the house. There was no playing beach volleyball, pickup basketball, or training jiu-jitsu. There was no going out to dinner with friends. I didn’t even really jump online to play video games. In 2026 I will aim to have a little more fun in that regard.

And lastly, my goal is to continue to keep things up entrepreneurially. Writing for this site brings me a lot of joy. Recording music is a great feeling. Sharing content and connecting with people online can be very rewarding. And I don’t plan to stop or give up anytime soon. If anything, I hope to continue to grow and get better with it this year. These past 7 months have shown me that I am capable of working and living independently full time. I have enjoyed it quite a bit as a matter of fact. If I can replace the income from a full-time job through my personal endeavors, I would do that gladly.
