Remaining Balanced and Staying Focused
As we’re now more than halfway into the year, I must say 2026 has been phenomenal. There have been so many good moves made that it’s hard to believe we’re only just getting into the second half. It feels like it’s been a lot longer.
With that said, at this point the biggest thing is just to stay on the right track and not get overly complacent.
As someone that has the freedom to make my own schedule, I have seen how it can be easy to fall off the wagon and get out of rhythm.
With where I’m at now I’m very happy to say that I’ve been in a great groove, and I’m feeling ready to keep that going.
Continuing to Evolve
As I’ve now been in my current position for a little over two years, there have been moments where I’ve found myself scratching my head as far as what I can be doing to continue to evolve.
One of the things I’ve recognized is that it’s okay for me to maintain a similar routine, and that I don’t always have to be jumping onto new things.
But, I also find that I tend to feel invigorated when I’m tapping into new ground. Especially at my age where I’m so young and have so much to experience.
That’s where it becomes important to stay balanced.
And that’s mostly what I’ve been doing. I’m finding new ways to utilize the same resources, even if that’s me focusing more on cardio/lower body in the gym rather than upper body, or recording over new types of instrumentals with the same equipment for my music.
It’s a balance of not feeling like I need to push overly hard for bigger and better things while also not getting overly complacent with what I have.
Being Where I’m At
Over the last couple of years my life has made quite the transition, and it’s something that my family comments on on a regular basis.
As much as it’s been awesome, I’d be lying if I said there weren’t times where I felt tempted to resort back to a lifestyle that feels more comfortable and familiar.
But, that’s where I remind myself to just be where I’m at currently, and that life moves forward not backward.
Just because I might have spent my morning taking a walk by the river out on the preserve a few years ago doesn’t mean that’s what I have to be doing with my current schedule. I can get that same walk in at the gym on the treadmill where I have the opportunity to be more social and within a fresh environment.
The same applies for my music. As I’m looking to be more visual with my releases I just have to stay on that track rather than resort back to just throwing up an album cover with the lyrics like I might have a couple of years ago.
Making Good Use of My Time
As I said up in the opener, I am blessed to be in the position where I can make my own schedule.
This is something that can work tremendously well for you, or it can work against you if you start slipping into bad habits.
Thankfully I am someone who is able to manage my time pretty effectively, but sometimes it takes careful attention.
Although there might be some days where I will come home and take a nap in the afternoon rather than do something productive, I tend to keep those days to a minimum. After one or two days in a row of that I’m usually ready to get back into gear.
At the end of the day, as much as I am where I want to be for my age, I also recognize that I’m not going to want to be in this exact position years from now.
As I’m winding down my 20s and just a few months away from starting my 30s this continues to be a point of emphasis for me, and it’s part of what keeps me motivated to get out of the bed and get going each day.
